Prism Sound Maselec MEA-2 Mastering Equalizer

The Prism Sound Maselec MEA-2 is a stereo analogue equalizer that can be found in top mastering studios around the world, and for good reason. As part of Prism Sounds Maselec Master range the MEA-2 has been created for Prism Sound by Leif Mases, a sound engineer and producer who has worked for a range of artists including Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Jeff Beck, and ABBA. With a partnership so impressive, it’s almost unsurprising that the MEA-2 has such unbelievable specs.

With a dynamic range of 117 dB, a frequency range of 19Hz to 27KHz, and signal distortion always far below 0.001% (with every single filter is engaged the harmonic distortion comes to a total of just 0.0006%) definitely deserves it’s “mastering-grade” reputation. It’s four-band equalizer has stepped frequency, cut/boost, and Q/shelf controls for each band which allow for incredibly precise and accurate sonic adjustments which most analogue equalizers could only dream of. With such consistency, precision, and accuracy, all with virtually no distortion or harmonic disturbance, the MEA-2 truly is one of the best mastering-grade equalizers around, and certainly deserves all of the praise and respect it receives.
