Thermionic Culture The Phoenix Mastering Plus Compressor

The Thermionic Culture Phoenix Mastering Plus compressor is the latest evolution of compressors from Thermionic Culture’s range. While it’s kept all the features available with the original Phoenix, the new compressor is specially designed for mastering purposes. Improvements include high quality Elmer switches for the input gain and threshold controls, and alpha switches for the attack and release controls which enable full recall-ability.

As with all of Thermionic Culture’s mastering grade hardware units, the Phoenix Mastering Plus compressor uses either Mullard or Siemens new old-stock (NOS) valves which have longer life spans whilst simultaneously producing an incredibly low level of noise. It sounds fat, colourful when needed and glorious. If you are looking for a compressor that can really “glue” a mix and make it sound like a finished record, then it doesn’t get much better than The Phoenix!
