Open-Minded Listening
We start by listening to your mix with fresh ears, no pre-judgement, and no forced decisions. We also listen to any reference tracks you send, so we can absorb the vibe, direction, and sonic character you’re aiming for.
Technical Mix Analysis
Next, we identify any issues in the frequency, spatial, and dynamic ranges. This includes controlling resonances, imbalances, and problems that may have built up in the mix and gone unnoticed.
Creative Enhancement
Once the technical foundation is clear, we decide whether the track needs any additive processing, such as compression, EQ, summing through hardware transformers, saturation, tape, or other creative treatments. These choices are guided by the character and artistic direction of the music.
Final Loudness & Delivery
Finally, we standardise the volume and prepare the final deliverables, making sure your music is properly limited and ready for distribution. We also take into account the release format, because mastering for vinyl is very different from mastering for streaming platforms.
